What is sugaring and how is it different from waxing?

Sugaring is an ancient hair removal method using a natural paste made from sugar, lemon juice, and water. Unlike waxing, the paste is applied against hair growth and removed in the direction of growth, which reduces breakage and ingrown hairs. Sugaring is generally less painful, gentler on sensitive skin, and the paste only adheres to hair rather than skin.

How often should I get a facial?

For most people, a professional facial every 4 to 6 weeks is ideal because it aligns with the skin's natural cell turnover cycle. However, if you are addressing specific concerns like acne or aging, your esthetician may recommend more frequent visits initially. Regular facials help maintain skin health and allow your provider to adjust treatments as your skin changes.

What is a medi-facial?

A medi-facial, also called a functional facial, is an advanced facial treatment that uses medical-grade products and clinical techniques to deliver more intensive results than a traditional spa facial. These treatments may include chemical peels, professional-strength serums, and targeted therapies for concerns like hyperpigmentation, fine lines, or acne scarring. Results are typically more dramatic and longer-lasting.

Do you offer acne treatment in Boulder?

Yes, Orange Poppy Spa offers a comprehensive Acne Clearing Program in Boulder, Colorado. This program combines in-spa professional treatments with a customized home-care regimen tailored to your specific type of acne. Our approach addresses the root causes of breakouts for lasting results rather than just treating symptoms.

What makes natural nails different from regular manicures?

Our natural nail services use DazzleDry, a vegan, cruelty-free, and non-toxic nail lacquer system that is free of the harmful chemicals commonly found in traditional nail polishes, such as formaldehyde, toluene, and DBP. DazzleDry also dries in about five minutes without UV lamps, reducing exposure to potentially damaging light.

How do I prepare for a sugaring appointment?

For the best sugaring results, hair should be at least one-quarter inch long, roughly the length of a grain of rice. Gently exfoliate the area a day or two before your appointment and avoid applying lotions or oils on the day of your visit. Stay out of direct sun and avoid hot baths or saunas immediately before and after your session to minimize skin sensitivity.

What skincare products do you sell?

Orange Poppy Spa carries a curated selection of professional-grade skincare products chosen by our licensed estheticians. Our product lines focus on clean, effective formulations that complement the treatments we offer in the spa. During your facial, your esthetician can recommend specific products tailored to your skin type and concerns for an at-home regimen.

Do you offer gift cards?

Yes, Orange Poppy Spa offers gift cards that make a wonderful gift for any occasion. Gift cards can be purchased in any dollar amount and are redeemable for all services and retail products. You can purchase them in the spa or contact us to arrange delivery.
