We were also hearing horror stories from guests who had tried extensions elsewhere and were experiencing unbelievable damage (picture bald patches) to their own hair or massive inconvenience due to the tape used in their tape-in extensions turning gooey and sliding.

During your consultation, Tracy will determine the length and amount of hair necessary to achieve your desired look. 

Investment:

14” long - will fall approximately 4 inches below your shoulders before being cut and styled

Hair extensions are a lifestyle. Most likely you will find your hair with extensions easier to take care of than without. But they do require care, time and money. Turns out looking and feeling effortlessly fabulous, takes a bit of effort.  

Extensions Home Care Best Practices

Congratulations on you new fabulous look! We think it’s awesome you made an investment in yourself and hope you have a little more swagger in your step now. Your hair extensions can be reinstalled and enjoyed for a long time if you care for them properly, so we strongly recommend you follow all of the best practices listing here. 

1. Gently, but thoroughly brush your hair several times throughout the day. Start at the bottom and work your way up. 

2. Sleep with our extensions up in a top knot or in a braid. Tossing and turning can tangle your hair if left loose. (actually this is true of your own hair too but this is a great time to make a new habit)

3. Only use professional products recommended by your HEVN Hand Tied Hair Certified Stylist. Pro tip: Extensions LOVE the right leave in conditioner and oils. 

4. Please do not aggressively scrub your extensions. Shampoo your scalp and let the shampoo rinse through your ends no more than every other day. Being too rough can cause painful tangling.

5. Whether you air dry your blow dry your hair, make sure that your wefts get completely dry. Do not let them remain damp for extended periods of time.

6. It is important to make attending your regularly scheduled tightening appointments a top priority. Extensions will naturally loosen as your hair grows out.  Brushing and pulling on loose extensions can cause damage to your natural hair as well as break down the delicate hand tied wefts. 

7. Please note that average natural hair loss is between 50-150 strands of hair a day. A full head application of hair extensions covers approximately one-third of the head. During a tightening service, some natural hair may be shed more than normal because of being locked in the bead. This is normal and should not be interpreted as hairs pulled from the scalp by the extensions themselves.
